TGG is a magneto-optical crystal grown by the CZ method. Because it is possible to grow relatively large crystals and the magneto-optical effect is also large, it is widely used as a material for isolators in the 1μm band.
TSAG is a magneto-optical crystal grown by the CZ method. Compared to TGG, TSAG have higher transmittance in the 1μm band and about 20% larger magneto-optical constant, making them a focus for isolator materials for higher-intensity lasers.
YIG is an abbreviation for a single crystal oxide composed of yttrium and iron, formed by the FZ method, and having a garnet structure. (YIG: Yttrium Iron Garnet) It possesses excellent optical properties and is applied in devices such as optical isolators that utilize the Faraday rotation.
YSO crystals doped with rare-earth elements are grown by the CZ method. By controlling and doping minute amounts of rare-earth elements such as Pr, Eu, and Er, these crystals are attracting attention as quantum memory materials used in quantum communication and other applications.
Bi:RIG (Bi-substituted rare-earth Iron Garnet) crystals are a type of magneto-optical material grown by LPE and offer high transmittance in the near-infrared range (1.3 - 1.55 μm). They are mainly used in optical isolators for telecommunication and data-communication systems.
